Job Description

About Bolt Bolt is shaping a future where cities are built for people, not cars. What started as an ambitious project of a 19-year-old in 2013 has grown into a global mobility platform used by more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million driver and courier partners across 50 countries.

From ride-hailing and food delivery to scooters, e-bikes, and car-sharing, Bolt helps people move through cities every day. Small, autonomous teams drive this work, combining the speed and ownership of a startup with the scale of a global technology company backed by more than €1bn in funding.

And we're just getting started.

Why join Bolt?

  • Build the future of mobility and help transform how people live and move in cities.
  • Tackle challenges at scale that span technology, operations, regulation, and growth.
  • Take real ownership early. Small, lean teams mean your decisions matter from day one, and you'll learn fast alongside some of the best people in the industry.
  • Join one of Europe's leading technology companies, backed by world-class investors including Sequoia.

About The Role As a Senior Analytics Engineer in the People Analytics team, you will be much more than a data expert — you will actively shape how Bolt understands, plans, and develops its workforce at scale. You will own the People Analytics layer of Bolt's centrally managed data platform, building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers people insights across the company: from headcount planning and hiring to attrition, absence, and compensation analytics.

A central part of this role is building the data infrastructure that makes conversational analytics possible. We are actively developing a people data plugin for AI tools, enabling analysts and business stakeholders to query people data in natural language. For that to work, the underlying data needs to be exceptionally clean, well-documented, semantically consistent, and structured with AI consumption in mind. You will own that foundation.

You will support People Analytics by building robust pipelines and a trusted semantic layer across the full employee lifecycle. You will own everything between the data producers and data consumers — connecting HRIS with core employee data, ATS with recruitment data, planning and other systems through a modern analytics stack.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with people analysts, people business partners, finance, and adjacent stakeholders to prioritise and align the analytics engineering roadmap, ensuring solutions meet both reporting and AI-readiness requirements.
  • Build, expand, and maintain reusable data models and metrics in source of truth semantic layer (currently in dbt) dbt, covering the full employee lifecycle — headcount, hiring funnel, attrition, absence, and compensation — modelled with the consistency and documentation that LLM-based tools require to reason over data reliably. Implement data quality monitoring and alerting so issues are caught before they surface in dashboards or AI tools.
  • Set up and manage the architecture, documentation, and key data transformations for people data source systems within our Databricks and S3-based data lake; identify and resolve gaps where data is missing, unreliable, or structurally unusable.
  • Own and evolve the BI tool (currently Looker) semantic layer (ML models, explores, derived tables) as the single source of truth for people metrics — and as a key component of our conversational analytics setup.
  • Co-build and extend our people data plugin for AI tools such as Claude and Cursor; work with the analytics engineering function and data platform team to establish standards and best practices for AI-ready data — including naming conventions, metric glossaries, lineage documentation, and data catalogue maintenance.
  • Follow system design and architectural best practices and closely collaborate with Data Engineering, People Tech, and Internal Products to ensure data integrity and efficiency across all processes.

About You

  • Demonstrated experience with data modelling and developing analytics architectures for large volumes of data, especially for consumption by both BI tools and AI systems, with tangible impact to show for it.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, data modelling tools such as dbt, and comfort working within cloud data lakehouse environments (Databricks, S3).
  • Deep hands-on experience with Looker and LookML or similar BI tool — ability to build and own a full semantic layer, not just consume dashboards.
  • Strong practical understanding of what conversational analytics and AI-assisted querying require from the data layer: consistent naming conventions, rich metadata, well-scoped semantic models, and LLM-ready documentation.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and strong verbal and written English communication, especially when bridging technical infrastructure and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience integrating data infrastructure with AI tools (such as Anthropic Claude, Cursor, or similar), whether through plugin development, tool definitions, or structuring data specifically for LLM consumption, is a strong plus.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Accelerate your professional growth with unique career opportunities.
  • Enjoy a rewarding salary and stock options, knowing that as Bolt succeeds, so do you.
  • Take care of your physical and mental health with our wellness perks.
  • Celebrate 5 years at Bolt with a 1-month paid sabbatical to recharge.
  • Connect with colleagues at annual company events and smaller team gatherings.
  • Balance flexibility and in-person collaboration with our hybrid model, including at least 12 monthly in-office days.

Some perks may differ depending on your location and role. At Bolt, using AI daily is a baseline expectation for everyone. If there’s a faster, smarter way to do your work, we expect you to find it. You’re still responsible for the output, so the standard stays high when using AI tools.

Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying!

Everyone is welcome Bolt is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace where all qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to race, colour, nationality, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are happy to make reasonable accommodations throughout our hiring process. If you require any adjustments, please let us know.
