Job Description

Description The Operations Technology Solutions (OTS) Field Delivery organisation is seeking an IT Program Manager to provide program management across the service, support, and project portfolios in the UK & Ireland. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking to develop a career in IT program management within a fast-paced, operational environment.

You will have the opportunity to expand your program management capabilities and take responsibility for the governance, reporting, and continuous improvement of the UK Field Delivery portfolio. This role focuses on driving Field Delivery initiatives—supporting portfolio health, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination—rather than direct management of large-scale deployment programs.

The IT Program Manager will support planning and execution of various IT infrastructure and service initiatives across Amazon's First, Middle, and Last Mile operations. You will work with internal local teams, regional OTS leadership, and global PMO cross-functional peer groups to guide the success of programs that support company growth. The role requires effective project management skills alongside strong communication skills to coordinate team members belonging to different teams and reporting lines. We are looking for a well-organised person who will proactively look for ways to contribute to Amazon, both in portfolio management and operational support. Up to 10% travel within the UK & Ireland expected.

Key job responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the UK Field Delivery program portfolio, providing clear visibility of status, risks, dependencies, and resource requirements to senior leadership
  • Define and drive governance mechanisms, reporting cadences, and escalation paths for Field Delivery initiatives
  • Establish and measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for program and project performance across the UK portfolio
  • Support resource demand forecasting and capacity planning for Field Delivery teams
  • Drive process improvement initiatives using data and metrics to identify inefficiencies and implement scalable solutions
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Deployment, Field Support, Engineering, and Service Management to align priorities and remove blockers
  • Support the definition, testing, and adoption of program management tooling and standard operating procedures
  • Represent UK Field Delivery in regional and global PMO forums, ensuring alignment on standards and best practices
  • Proactively manage change control and communicate impact on project scope; identify risks, issues, and devise contingency plans
  • Keep key partners informed of portfolio and project progress while maintaining documentation; remain committed to exceptional internal customer service
  • Update or develop documentation on processes critical to successfully delivering Field Delivery initiatives

About The Team The Operations Technology Solutions (OTS) Field Delivery organisation is responsible for ensuring Amazon's operational sites across the UK & Ireland have the IT infrastructure, support, and services they need to run effectively. We sit at the intersection of technology and operations, our teams deliver hands-on support, manage IT assets, and execute initiatives that keep fulfilment centres, delivery stations, and logistics sites running.

We work with cross-functional peer groups to support new facility launches, expansions, and the deployment of new business solutions. We are a collaborative, customer-obsessed group that values ownership, bias for action, and continuous improvement. You will join a team of IT managers, engineers, and support professionals who are passionate about solving problems at scale and delivering results for our internal customers across First, Middle, and Last Mile operations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Comfortable in a customer-facing role requiring solid organisational capability alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment while prioritising and managing multiple responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading process improvements
  • Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions
