Job Description
Description Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a world leader in cloud services, operating large-scale, high-density centers across the globe. We are expanding our teams within the EMEA regions and have openings for Installation Technicians.
As part of that team, you will be primarily tasked with installing cabling and new racks within the data centers. You should be a self-starter, highly motivated with a willingness to learn and up skill.
You must be able to perform reoccurring tasks and adhere to standard processes and best practices and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.
This position has a physical component and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
Key job responsibilities
- Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
- Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.
- Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.
- Creating/attaching labels and barcodes.
- Managing inventory of related materials.
- Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinating tasks related to day to day operations
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
- Regularly work at heights and from ladders.
- Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
- Ability to travel within geographical work area is required.
About The Team The Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data center infrastructure.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Two years of experience in a mission critical or similar environment as a Network Tech, Data Center Tech etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Speak, write, and read fluently in German
- Speak, write, and read fluently in English
- Valid and active driver's license
- Ability to prioritize the tasks and distribute the work within a team.
