Kickstart your hardware engineering career at the forefront of micromobility!
As a Field Application Engineering Intern at Bolt, you'll be integral to ensuring the smooth operation and technical excellence of our scooter and e-bike fleet. This hands-on role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with hardware engineers, operations teams, and suppliers, diving into diagnostics, component validation, issue tracking, and process standardization that directly impact our service.
This is a 11-week summer internship starting in June 2026.

About The Role As a Field Application Engineering Intern, you will support the technical backbone of our micromobility operations by working closely with hardware engineers, operations teams, and suppliers. This hands-on role provides exposure to diagnostics, component validation, issue tracking, and process standardization—key to ensuring the performance and maintainability of scooters and e-bikes in Bolt's fleet.
You'll receive mentorship from seasoned professionals who are passionate about nurturing talent and fostering growth throughout your internship. You'll have the chance to sharpen your technical skills, expand your knowledge base, and build a strong foundation for your future career in tech.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting and analyzing fleet issue reports from warehouses and operations teams.
- Help document and maintain SOPs, diagnostics workflows, and best practices.
- Participate in hardware and firmware testing, including composing test reports.
- Contribute to ongoing issue investigations and root cause analysis.
- Support Field Application Engineering team in tracking and updating tickets in Jira and internal databases.
- Join the Field Application Engineering team during warehouse visits, helping document processes and observe repair workflows.
About you:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Ideally in your 2nd year, looking to gain hands-on industry experience early in your studies.
- Passionate about micromobility, hardware, and solving real-world technical challenges.
- Eager to learn and comfortable stepping into a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proactive mindset with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
